My name is Dr. Jessica Jean Baptiste. I am a licensed psychologist, consultant, and health equity researcher. I earned my PhD from Seton Hall University and completed my post-doctoral training at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center.
As an Afro-Caribbean immigrant, I have always been personally invested in promoting culturally informed and respectful healthcare services for minoritized and underrepresented individuals. My clinical experience is diverse, ranging from working with asylum seekers and U.S. veterans to cancer survivors. I approach therapeutic care through the lens of the Biopsychosocial Model, a holistic framework that recognizes the complex interplay of physical health, psychological health, and social environment on overall wellness. In our work together, I aim to provide a safe, and compassionate environment where we can address the intricate interactions of different aspects of health including mind, body and soul.
At Empower Wellness Psychology, we believe in a holistic approach to mental health. Achieving and maintaining balance involves integrating various aspects of life—such as emotional, social, physical, and spiritual dimensions—into a cohesive and harmonious whole. This holistic approach not only enhances individual well-being but also contributes to a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
We offer a variety of therapeutic and wellness services, including individual therapy, psychological testing, mindfulness regimen, workplace consulting and personalized coaching.

Many insurance companies cover out-of-network providers and will reimburse between 60-80% of the cost of sessions. If your plan covers out-of-network providers, you would issue payment to me at the time of service and your insurance will then reimburse you. I issue a monthly “superbill” or itemized receipt, which you would submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
